Summer Camp at Wilderness Camp & Retreat Center
Camps have long played a meaningful role in the faith formation of McMurry’s children and youth. For many years, our congregation helped lead camps at Wilderness Camp & Retreat Center in Lawson, Missouri, and we were instrumental in its development and growth.
This summer, Wilderness is offering three faith-based camps designed to nurture spiritual growth, build friendships, and create lasting memories in a Christ-centered environment.
We are especially excited that Lillian Stark will be leading Grand Camp at Wilderness, June 13–15. Grand Camp is open to children entering first and second grade. Lillian is also happy to welcome older first-time campers — just speak with her if you have questions.
For complete camp details and registration information, please visit wildernesscrc.org.
Give your child the gift of faith, friendship, and unforgettable summer memories!

Everyone is welcome! There's no formal lesson- just the valuable lessons we learn from each other while visiting. I've certainly learned a lot from each of you!
We hope to see you there!

McMurry is blessed with a caring and committed congregation, and we're inviting you to be part of the joy of serving!
Each week, we highlight one or two areas where volunteers are needed.
If you feel called to help in any of these areas, please reach out.
We've added Fellowship Time as a new opportunity.
If you'd like to support the church by helping during Fellowship Time, please contact Carol at the office or speak with her on Sundays. She'll be happy to show you how you can help.
Recently, we added two more important areas:
• Ushering
• Assisting with Communion
We already have a wonderful team helping with these ministries, but we'd love to give them a break now and then.
If you're interested in ushering, please let Carol or Shirley Votipka know.
If you'd like to help with Communion, talk to Carol.

Thank you, McMurry family, for prayerfully considering these opportunities to serve God through the church!

For the month of February, we will be collecting canned meat (tuna, chicken, Vienna sausages, Spam, sardines, etc.)
As of February 15th, we have collected 184 canned meats and 58 other items. This gives us a total of 242 items for the food pantry. Our Food Pantry Outreach program relies heavily on the generosity of church members and visitors.
Donations can be dropped off in the designated collection bins in the church lobby during regular business hours or before and after Sunday worship services.
Volunteers sort and package the donated items into care packages that are distributed to individuals and families in need. Through this outreach initiative, McMurry UMC aims to help Avondale Church provide not only physical nourishment but also dignity and hope to those in our surrounding community.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
